How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    CNC Operator – Nights

    * Full Training Provided

    * £36,000 per annum including shift allowance

    * Permanent | Night Shift | Monday to Friday

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some CNC machining or operating experience who is looking to develop their skills further. Full training will be provided, including training across different CNC machines and processes.

    The role will primarily involve CNC turning, although you may also support other areas of the machine shop and receive training on additional CNC machinery.

    CNC Operator – Nights The Role

    As a CNC Operator, you will be responsible for supporting the manufacture of precision-engineered components within a modern CNC machine shop.

    Duties will include:

    * Operating CNC turning machines to manufacture precision components

    * Loading and unloading components and monitoring machining cycles

    * Running proven CNC programs

    * Carrying out basic machine and tooling adjustments following training

    * Checking components against engineering drawings and specifications

    * Using manual measuring equipment to ensure components meet required tolerances

    * Supporting other CNC machines and areas of the machine shop when required

    * Receiving ongoing training to develop your CNC machining, setting and inspection skills

    CNC Operator – Nights What We’re Looking For

    * Some previous experience within CNC machining, CNC operating or a precision engineering environment would be desirable, but extensive setting or programming experience is not required.

    * Have some experience operating CNC machinery or working within a machine shop

    * Have an interest in CNC turning and precision engineering

    * Are mechanically minded and keen to learn

    * Have good attention to detail

    * Are comfortable working permanent night shifts

    * Are interested in developing their CNC machining skills through training

    * Experience with CNC turning, FANUC controls, engineering drawings or manual measuring equipment would be advantageous, although full training can be provided.

    CNC Operator – Nights Salary & Benefits

    * £36,000 per annum including shift allowance

    * 33 days holiday
