How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Role Overview:
    We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will initially work on a project in Leeds before moving onto a variety of highways and streetworks projects across Yorkshire.

    The role will involve supporting the delivery of works on site, with a particular focus on accurate setting out, quality assurance and ensuring works are completed in line with drawings, specifications and project requirements.

    Key Requirements:

    Previous experience as a Site Engineer within highways, civils or streetworks

    Strong setting-out experience

    Good understanding of QA procedures and ITPs

    CSCS card - ideally held

    Streetworks / Highways Passport - ideally held

    Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

    Good communication and organisational skills

    Full UK driving licence desirable

    Responsibilities:

    Setting out works accurately from drawings and specifications

    Carrying out site measurements, surveys and levels

    Preparing and maintaining QA documentation and ITPs

    Completing inspections and ensuring works meet required standards

    Working closely with Site Managers, engineers and subcontractors

    Monitoring works against drawings and specifications

    Identifying and resolving engineering issues on site

    Maintaining accurate site records and documentation

    Supporting the delivery of highways and streetworks projects

    Ensuring health, safety and environmental requirements are maintained
