This employer is a critical supplier to the Power Generation sector and offers a range of services, including machine overhaul and heavy component manufacturing.
Because of an increasing workload, this employer is actively looking to recruit a CNC Production Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.
Key Areas of Responsibility for the CNC Production Engineer:
Offline Programming - Creating brand new & bespoke programs for large machines (Machining Centres & Horizontal Borers up to 5 axis) using Siemens NX. This will include new component manufacturing and component refurbishment
New Product Introduction - Tooling acquisition, machining method planning, work routing (when required) and any other associated functions, in an attempt to achieve maximum efficiency levels
Production & Manufacturing - Fixture & work-holding design, cycle time improvement, supporting machinists throughout the process/project and quality focused tasks
Customer Liaison - Successful candidate will be introduced to the customer once the project has been approved. Liaison will involve kick off meetings, technical briefings, progress updates etc.
For the CNC Production Engineer, we are searching for individuals who possess:
Formal qualifications within a Mechanical or Machining focused discipline - Apprenticeship, NVQ/City & Guilds/BTEC Level 3, HNC, HND for example
A strong career within Machining - ideal background is someone who began their career as a CNC Machinist and has since progressed into a Production Engineer position. Technical knowledge around machining processes is essential.
Previous experience spent working in a Heavy Manufacturing environment. This employer has some of the largest CNC Machines in the North of England (their machines can handle up to 100 tonnes)
Offline AND online programming experience, specifically with Siemens NX (ESSENTIAL) software, Fanuc and Heidenhain controls
In return, the CNC Production Engineer will receive:
Starting Salary: £50,000.00 per annum (£25.98 per hour)
Frequent Overtime Available - Paid at £38.98 per hour
Holiday Entitlement: 33 Days including public holidays
Working Hours: 37 per week - Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:00 / Friday 08:00 to 13:00
