How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, technically minded sales professional who enjoys a challenge, brings fresh ideas and has the drive to help grow an emerging business. We are looking for a Technical Sales and Business Development Manager who is passionate and hungry for success, that will play a key role in driving business growth across the UK and Europe, promoting an innovative range of water and wastewater measurement and control products. Working closely with the Directors, Marketing, Operations and Technical teams, you will help develop existing markets while identifying and opening new business opportunities.

    As a Technical Sales and Business Development Manager your main responsibilities are to: 

    Further develop the existing UK and European customer base.
    Drive significant sales growth across the business.
    Promote new products, including the Neutralizer, within the construction industry.
    Proactively develop and strengthen the company's sales function.
    Visit customers regularly to introduce the product range and provide training where required.
    Identify and develop new agents and distribution opportunities across the UK and Europe.
    Generate and maintain new sales leads through the company's CRM system.
    Support company marketing and promotional activities, including advertising, brochures, videos and trade shows.
    Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the water and wastewater markets, including emerging trends and future opportunities.
    Provide detailed weekly sales reports and updates to the Directors.
    Work collaboratively with internal teams to maximise sales and business development opportunities.

    To be considered for the Technical Sales & Business Development Manager Role you will ideally have: 

    A technical background with at least 5 years' experience selling wastewater solutions or related products/services.
    Experience within industries such as process instrumentation, level and flow, water quality, pumps, valves or similar.
    A proven track record of achieving sales growth and developing new business.
    A strong understanding of water and wastewater routes to market.
    Experience selling into water companies and industrial markets, including food and drink, pharmaceutical and green processing sectors.
    A proven ability to develop new business and open new markets.
    A forward-thinking approach with the ability to introduce new ideas and opportunities.
    The energy, drive and determination to grow an emerging business.
    A higher-level qualification in Business Administration and/or Engineering, ideally in Chemistry, Instrumentation, Electronics, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering.
    Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
    Strong customer relationship-building and team-building abilities.
    Excellent written and spoken English.
    The ability to work independently, take initiative and operate effectively within a fast-paced environment.
    Strong experience in customer interaction, contract negotiation and issue resolution.
    A willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and Europe.

    This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week on a salary of £45,000 - £65,000 per annum depending on experience plus OTE of up to £80,000, plus Benefits including; Company car/Vehicle allowance, Company phone, Laptop, Pension and Hybrid/remote working.
