How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Renewable Technologies Plumber / ASHP Engineer

    £50,000 – £55,000 + Electric Van + Private Healthcare + Excellent Benefits
London & South East – Mobile

Due to continued growth and a major increase in housing association work, we are recruiting experienced Renewable Technologies Plumbers / ASHP Engineers for a well-established renewable energy business.

The company has recently secured 48 housing association contracts, including major providers such as L&Q, Clarion and Riverside, creating long-term demand for experienced engineers across London and the South East.

The majority of the work will be across London, Greater London and inside the M25, with additional work throughout the surrounding Home Counties. Engineers can therefore be based in areas such as Kent, Essex, Surrey, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and surrounding locations, with work allocated as locally as possible.

This is primarily a service, maintenance, fault-finding and repair role rather than a straight installation position.

    The role will involve:

Servicing and maintaining Air Source Heat Pumps
    Fault finding and reactive repairs
Diagnosing heating and hot-water system issues
Working on cylinders, pumps, valves and controls
    Underfloor heating systems
    Vented and unvented hot-water systems
    Water Regulations-related works
Heat recovery / renewable heating systems
Solar thermal / solar hot-water systems where applicable
    Completing service documentation via PDA/tablet
Working in occupied residential and social-housing properties

    Essential experience and qualifications

We are looking for engineers with:

Genuine Air Source Heat Pump experience
A recognised Level 3 ASHP / Heat Pump qualification
    Strong plumbing and heating background
    G3 / Unvented Hot Water
    Water Regulations
Strong service, maintenance and fault-finding experience
    Full UK driving licence
Experience with any of the following would be particularly useful:

    Underfloor heating
    HIUs
    Solar thermal
    Low-temperature heating systems
    Heat-recovery systems
    Renewable heating controls
    MCS environments
BPEC / City & Guilds renewable qualifications
Social housing or occupied residential properties
The company will consider strong plumbing and heating engineers who meet most of the requirements but may need some additional renewable training, depending on their existing experience.

    Package

    £50,000 – £55,000 salary

    Plus:

    Electric company van
    Van available for private use
Private mileage charged at 85p per mile
    Company charging card
    Private healthcare
    PDA
    Mobile phone
    Tablet
    25 days holiday
    Bank holidays
    Birthday off
    1-in-6 call-out rota
£200 standby payment for the week on call
    Time-and-a-half overtime when called out
    Door-to-door pay while attending call-outs
Additional paid travel during the normal working week in line with company travel arrangements
During normal working days, the first hour of the journey to work and the journey home is unpaid, with qualifying additional travel paid at the applicable company travel rate.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ASHP / renewable heating engineer who enjoys fault finding and service work and wants to join a business with a substantial long-term housing portfolio and continued growth across London and the South East.
