How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Mechanical Ventilation / MVHR Engineer

    Mechanical Ventilation / MVHR Engineer

    £50,000 – £58,000 + Electric Van + Private Healthcare + Excellent Benefits
London & South East – Mobile

We are recruiting experienced Mechanical Ventilation / MVHR Engineers for a growing renewable technologies business that has recently secured a significant portfolio of housing association contracts across London and the South East.

The majority of the work will be throughout London, Greater London and inside the M25, although engineers can be based across the surrounding Home Counties. The company has work across Kent, Essex, Surrey, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire, with some wider regional work when required.

This is primarily a service, maintenance and fault-finding position, rather than a new-build installation role.

You will work on domestic ventilation and heat-recovery systems including MVHR, MEV, extractor fans and associated ventilation equipment, carrying out work such as servicing units, replacing filters, checking and testing airflow, fault finding, replacing motors/fans/components, cleaning systems and ensuring units are operating correctly.

We are particularly interested in engineers with:

Previous MVHR / mechanical ventilation experience
    Service, maintenance and fault-finding experience
Airflow testing, balancing or commissioning experience
Experience working in occupied residential or social-housing properties
Part P or equivalent electrical competence
A recognised ventilation qualification/course would be advantageous
    Full UK driving licence
    Good customer-facing skills
If you have strong MVHR experience but have not completed the company's preferred ventilation course, this does not automatically rule you out. Further training can be provided for the right engineer.

    Package

    £50,000 – £58,000 salary

    Plus:

Electric company van, available for private use
    Charging card
    Private healthcare
    PDA, mobile phone and tablet
25 days holiday + bank holidays
    Birthday off
    1-in-6 call-out rota
£200 standby payment for the week on call
    Time-and-a-half when called out
    Door-to-door payment whilst working call-out
Additional paid travel during the normal working week in line with company travel arrangements
This is a very good opportunity for an experienced ventilation engineer who wants a secure mobile role with a growing renewable technologies company and a substantial long-term housing portfolio.

We act as an Employment Agency/Business with regards to this vacancy. As an Equal Opportunities employer we welcome applications regardless of race, gender, nationality, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, religion, marital status, disability or age.
