How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The OpportunityWe are currently working with an established and growing advanced manufacturing business based in Minworth, Sutton Coldfield, who are looking to bring an experienced Manufacturing Engineer into the team on a contract basis.
    This is a great opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to work within a busy, high-volume manufacturing environment, supporting production, improving processes and delivering continuous improvement projects.
    The successful engineer will be hands-on, technically strong and comfortable working closely with Production, Quality, Tooling, Maintenance and Engineering teams.
    The RoleAs a Manufacturing Engineer, you will provide day-to-day engineering support across the manufacturing operation, helping to improve productivity, quality, efficiency and overall production performance.
    You will be involved in identifying and resolving manufacturing issues, optimising processes and supporting new products and process introductions.
    Key Responsibilities
    Provide hands-on engineering and technical support to production.
    Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing processes.
    Investigate production issues and carry out root-cause analysis.
    Develop and implement corrective and preventative actions.
    Support NPI and the introduction of new products and processes.
    Improve manufacturing efficiency, productivity and quality.
    Analyse downtime, scrap, cycle times and production data.
    Lead and support continuous improvement activities.
    Work closely with Production, Quality, Tooling and Maintenance teams.
    Support tooling, equipment and process trials.
    Develop and improve work instructions and manufacturing processes.
    Assist with jigs, fixtures, gauges and other production aids.
    Support process validation and product launch activities.
    Help reduce waste, scrap, downtime and manufacturing costs.
    Provide technical support and guidance to production teams.
    Ensure processes meet quality, safety and customer requirements.Essential Experience
    Previous experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer or Production Engineer.
    Experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
    Strong manufacturing and process engineering knowledge.
    Experience with root-cause analysis and problem solving.
    Strong continuous improvement mindset.
    Ability to work closely with production and other engineering functions.
    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
    Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
    Practical, hands-on approach to engineering.Contract Details
