How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Behaviour Mentor

    * South London

    * Full-Time or Cover

    * Long-Term Position

    * £95 - £120 per day (depending on experience)

    Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential?

    We are currently recruiting Behaviour Mentors to work across specialist schools, alternative provisions, and mainstream settings throughout South London. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in education, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, social care, or residential support.

    The Role

    As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who require additional support with their behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning. You will build positive relationships, provide guidance, and help students develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Supporting students on a 1:1 and small-group basis.

    * Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

    * Managing challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques.

    * Acting as a positive role model and mentor.

    * Helping students engage with learning and school life.

    * Supporting pupils with SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD, and other additional needs.

    * Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies.

    The Ideal Candidate

    * Previous experience working with young people in education, youth work, mentoring, coaching, residential care, or support work.

    * Strong behaviour management and communication skills.

    * Ability to remain calm under pressure and build positive relationships.

    * Resilient, patient, and empathetic nature.

    * Passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people.

    * Team Teach training is advantageous but not essential.

    What We Offer

    * Competitive daily rates.

    * Long-term opportunities with the potential for permanent employment.

    * Ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant.

    * Valuable experience within schools and specialist provisions.

    * A rewarding role where you can genuinely make a difference.

    Whether you're an experienced Behaviour Mentor or looking to transfer your skills from youth work, sports coaching, care, or support work, we'd love to hear from you.
