How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    BTEC Business Lecturer

    Location: Tower Hamlets 
    Salary: £31 per hour 
    Contract: Full Time 
    Start Date: ASAP

    We are currently seeking an experienced BTEC Business Lecturer to join a college team, teaching and assessing learners across a range of Business programmes.

    The successful candidate will have proven BTEC Business teaching experience and be confident delivering engaging, student-centred lessons to learners from Level 1 through to Level 3.

    The Role You will be responsible for:

    Teaching and assessing BTEC Business programmes to 14–19 and adult learners.
    Planning and delivering engaging lessons and developing appropriate teaching and learning materials.
    Supporting students with their academic progress, achievement and progression.
    Acting as a personal tutor/course coordinator where required.
    Monitoring student progress, attendance and achievement.
    Providing effective feedback and tutorial support.
    Contributing to curriculum development, assessment and quality assurance processes.
    Working collaboratively with colleagues and supporting the wider College team.
    Maintaining accurate course and assessment records.
    Promoting equality, diversity, safeguarding and an inclusive learning environment. Requirements To be considered for this position, you must have:

    Recent and relevant experience teaching BTEC Business – this is essential.
    Experience teaching Business subjects within the BTEC/RQF framework.
    Experience working with 14–19 learners, ideally within a Further Education setting.
    A relevant Degree or comparable qualification.
    A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DET or equivalent.
    Strong knowledge of assessment, student progress and quality assurance requirements.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    A positive and supportive approach to working with students from a range of backgrounds.
    A strong understanding of safeguarding, equality and diversity within education. Why Apply?
