How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Housing Repairs Administrator
    Location: Gosport, Hampshire, PO12 3BE
Salary: Circa £30,000 per annum, FTE
Contract: Part time, Permanent – 25 hours per week
Keep homes running. Keep residents happy. Make a difference every day.
Are you organised, practical and great with people?
Do you enjoy coordinating workloads, solving problems and making sure things happen when they should
We're looking for a Housing Repairs Administrator to join our Property Services team and play a vital role in delivering a responsive, reliable and customer-focused repairs service for our residents.
This is a varied and rewarding role that combines administration, scheduling, customer service and practical property maintenance knowledge. You'll be the key link between residents reporting repairs, maintenance operatives carrying out work and contractors supporting the service.
No two days are the same. One moment you'll be coordinating urgent repair appointments and managing workloads, the next you'll be speaking with residents, updating repair records or helping colleagues resolve operational challenges.
If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where organisation, communication and problem-solving skills make a genuine difference, we'd love to hear from you.
    About the Role
As our Housing Repairs Administrator, you'll help ensure repairs are completed efficiently, appointments are managed effectively and residents receive excellent service throughout the repairs process.
You'll coordinate maintenance activities from initial report through to completion, ensuring jobs are correctly allocated, records are maintained and residents remain informed every step of the way.
This role is ideal for someone who understands property maintenance and enjoys combining practical knowledge with administration and customer service responsibilities.
    What You'll Be Doing
    * Coordinating Repairs and Maintenance
    * Receiving and processing repair requests from residents.
    * Scheduling routine, urgent and emergency maintenance work.
    * Managing operatives' diaries and allocating jobs based on priority, location and available skills.
    * Monitoring outstanding repairs and ensuring work progresses within agreed timescales.
    * Arranging follow-on works, contractor visits and additional appointments where required.
    * Maintaining accurate repair records and updating systems throughout the lifecycle of each job.
    * Acting as a key point of contact for residents regarding repairs and appointments.
    * Keeping residents informed about progress, delays or changes to scheduled works.
    * Responding professionally and empathetically to enquiries and concerns.
    * Helping ensure vulnerable residents receive the support and communication they need.
    * Using your maintenance knowledge to help identify repair requirements and allocate work appropriately.
    * Liaising with operatives and contractors regarding access, materials and scheduling.
    * Supporting the wider maintenance team to ensure repairs are completed efficiently.
    * Providing practical assistance with maintenance tasks when appropriate and within your level of competence.
    * Producing information and reports relating to repair activity and performance.
    * Identifying opportunities to improve scheduling, communication and service delivery.
    * Supporting compliance with health and safety, safeguarding and organisational policies.
    About You
You'll be a highly organised and proactive individual who enjoys balancing customer service with operational coordination.
    You will have:
    * Previous experience in a repairs, maintenance, construction, property services or similar environment.
    * Practical maintenance knowledge and an understanding of common property repairs.
    * Experience coordinating workloads, appointments or operational activities.
    * Strong administration and organisational skills.
    * Confidence using IT systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
    * Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with residents, contractors and colleagues.
    * A calm and professional approach when dealing with changing priorities and challenging situations.
    *
It Would Be Great If You Also Have
    * Experience within social housing repairs and maintenance.
    * Experience scheduling maintenance operatives or trade teams.
    * Knowledge of responsive repairs, void properties or planned maintenance programmes.
    * Experience using housing management, repairs management or workforce scheduling systems.
    Why Join Us
This is an opportunity to join an organisation where the work you do has a direct impact on residents' homes and wellbeing.
You'll become part of a supportive team that values collaboration, practical problem-solving and excellent customer service. You'll have the chance to use both your organisational skills and maintenance knowledge in a role that offers genuine variety and responsibility.
Every repair coordinated, every appointment managed and every problem resolved helps ensure residents receive the quality service they deserve.
    Interested
If you're looking for a role where you can combine administration, customer service and practical maintenance knowledge while making a meaningful difference to residents every day, we'd love to hear from you.
