How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Finishing Manager

    Freelance

    Location: Woking, Surrey
    Rate: Competitive / DOE
    Start: ASAP

    The Opportunity

    We are working with an established property developer that is looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Finishing Manager to join a modern residential/student accommodation project in Woking.

    The project comprises multiple apartments and communal areas, with the successful candidate responsible for overseeing the finishing stages of the development and ensuring all areas are completed to a high standard and in line with programme.

    This is a short-term opportunity for an experienced Finishing Manager, with the potential to move onto another project following successful completion.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage the day-to-day finishing works across the development.
    Coordinate subcontractors and trades to ensure works are completed to programme.
    Oversee internal finishes, snagging, making good and final completion works.
    Monitor quality and ensure works are completed to the required standards.
    Coordinate multiple trades and manage sequencing to maintain progress.
    Identify and resolve defects and outstanding works efficiently.
    Carry out regular inspections and maintain high standards of workmanship.
    Work closely with the Project Manager and development team to ensure programme milestones are achieved.
    Coordinate and manage the snagging and handover process.
    Maintain accurate records of progress and outstanding works.
    Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with relevant Health & Safety requirements.

    About You

    The successful candidate will have previous experience working as a Finishing Manager on residential, student accommodation, hotel or similar projects, with a strong understanding of internal finishes and the final stages of construction.

    You will have:

    Proven experience managing finishing stages on construction projects.
    Experience working on apartments, residential developments or similar projects.
    Strong knowledge of internal finishes and snagging.
    Excellent subcontractor and trade management skills.
    Strong organisational and communication skills.
    A keen eye for quality and attention to detail.
    The ability to work to tight programmes and deadlines.
    A proactive approach to problem solving and project delivery.

    Qualifications

    Essential:

    CSCS Card
    SMSTS
    First Aid
