How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Technical Sales Representative

    UK-wide | Engineering / Technical Sales

    A specialist UK manufacturer of salt spray, corrosion and environmental test chambers is looking to appoint an experienced Technical Sales Representative to support continued growth across the UK.

    The company designs and manufactures high-quality environmental testing equipment used by organisations across a wide range of industries to assess material and product performance, durability and corrosion resistance.

    The business is part of an established international environmental testing group, combining specialist UK manufacturing expertise with global resources, technology and support.

    The Role

    This is a customer-facing technical sales position, ideal for someone who enjoys understanding engineering challenges and developing practical technical solutions for customers.

    You will be responsible for developing new business, managing existing accounts and taking opportunities through the sales process from initial enquiry through to order.

    The position will involve regular travel throughout the UK for customer meetings, site visits, surveys, demonstrations and industry events.

    Key Responsibilities

    Develop new business opportunities across the UK.
    Manage and grow existing customer accounts.
    Identify prospective customers through proactive business development and market research.
    Understand customer applications, testing requirements and technical challenges.
    Recommend suitable environmental testing solutions.
    Prepare quotations, technical proposals and presentations.
    Conduct customer visits, site surveys and technical discussions.
    Work closely with engineering, production and service teams to develop customer solutions.
    Manage sales opportunities from initial enquiry through to successful order.
    Maintain accurate CRM records and sales activity.
    Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer requirements.
    Attend exhibitions, conferences and industry events.
    Build relationships with engineers, laboratory managers, purchasing teams and senior decision-makers.
    Work towards agreed sales, revenue and margin targets.
    About You

    You will ideally have experience in technical sales, engineering sales, capital equipment or another technically focused commercial role.

    We're looking for someone who can combine technical understanding with strong commercial and interpersonal skills.

    You'll have:

    Experience in technical or engineering sales.
    A technical, engineering or scientific background, or strong experience selling technical products.
    A proven understanding of the complete sales process.
    Strong communication and presentation skills.
    The ability to understand technical requirements and communicate solutions clearly.
    A proactive approach to new business development.
    Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
    Good commercial awareness.
    The ability to work independently and alongside technical teams.
    Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK.
    A full UK driving licence.
    Desirable Background

    Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

    Environmental testing
    Laboratory equipment
    Salt spray or corrosion testing
    Materials testing
    Product durability testing
    Engineering or manufacturing
    Automotive
    Aerospace
    Defence
    Coatings
    Metals
    Fasteners
    Plastics
    Capital equipment
    Knowledge of ISO 9227, ASTM B117 or similar corrosion testing standards would be beneficial.
