How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Location: Barrow-in-Furness
    Contract: Long-Term Contract
Working Environment: Gas Production & Processing

Land & Sea Resources are currently recruiting for an Electrical Technician to join the Morecambe Hub Operations team in Barrow-in-Furness. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Technician with an oil and gas, petrochemical or process operations background to work within a safety-critical production environment.

As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out routine and non-routine electrical maintenance, defect diagnosis and repair activities across operational plant and equipment associated with gas production, processing and condensate storage. You will play an important role in maintaining plant reliability, availability and safe operation.

The Electrical Technician will investigate technical problems affecting critical plant and equipment, identify appropriate solutions and carry out work to return equipment to normal operating service. The role will also involve commissioning and decommissioning activities, maintaining accurate technical records and contributing to plant modifications and improvement initiatives.

Safety is central to the Electrical Technician role. You will be expected to work in accordance with established procedures, permit-to-work requirements and company standards, ensuring that all maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently. You may also supervise contractors, vendors and other personnel during specific work activities.

The successful Electrical Technician will have proven experience within oil and gas, petrochemical, gas processing or a similar industrial production or maintenance environment. A sound understanding of engineering principles is essential, together with the ability to diagnose electrical faults and resolve technical issues within a safety-critical environment.

An appropriate engineering qualification such as a BTEC Ordinary Certificate or equivalent is required. HV, SAEP or REP qualifications would be desirable, although candidates with relevant electrical maintenance experience are encouraged to apply.

This Electrical Technician position offers the opportunity to work as part of an experienced E&I team, collaborating closely with the E&I Team Lead, Maintenance Supervisors, Operations Support and other Electrical, Mechanical and Instrument Technicians.

If you are an experienced Electrical Technician looking for your next opportunity within the oil and gas or energy sector, we would be pleased to hear from you
