How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About Us:
    South Lincolnshire Academies Trust has over 550 teaching and support staff working in the four schools (Bourne Academy, Spalding Academy, Giles Academy and Cowley Academy) that make up our highly successful Trust.

    Due to expansion of the SEN provision across the Trust, South Lincolnshire Academies Trust are looking to appoint Teaching Assistants across the Trust – positions are available at Bourne Academy, Spalding Academy, Giles Academy and Cowley Academy.

    An integral part of our SEN team, the successful candidate will:

    * Have a bright and confident personality;

    * Be passionate about supporting students through their academic journey;

    * Have the ability to build mutually respectful and supportive relationships with our students;

    * Be able to support the classroom teacher with confidence;

    * Have good literacy and numeracy skills;

    * Have excellent communication skills;

    * Knowledge and/ or experience of SEN would be desirable, but not essential;

    * Experience of working with students of secondary school age would be an advantage although not essential, as would NVQ2 or above.

    The Trust recognise the importance of Teaching Assistants within their organisation who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in order to assist our students in reaching their full potential. In order to support our TAs with their career development, we have recently introduced Teaching Assistant Responsibility (TAR) allowances which is an additional salary payment in recognition of any extra responsibility taken on. TARs, which are unique to the Trust, have been designed to align with Teaching staff who, similarly receive a Teaching & Learning Responsibility (TLR) allowance.
    The level of responsibility will determine the level of the TAR payment and will range from £500 to £3,500 per annum potentially equating your salary scale to beyond GLEA 3.9 up to GLEA 6.15.

    The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all its staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All pre-employment checks undertaken are in line with “Keeping Children Safe in Education”. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

    Closing date for applications is 8am Wednesday 9th September 2026.

    For vacancies with multiple positions available across the Trust, please clearly indicate which school you are applying for.
