How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are delighted to be supporting the iconic brand of Hornby with their recruitment.

Hornby is looking for an Ecommerce & Digital Product Manager to take ownership of the website and turn it into a significantly stronger engine for customer acquisition, conversion, retention and lifetime value.

This is much more than website management. You’ll own the commercial performance, customer experience and digital product roadmap, identifying where customers struggle, prioritising the biggest opportunities and delivering measurable improvements.

A major priority will be the development and launch of Hornby’s next-generation ecommerce website. Acting as the business Product Owner, you’ll work with their web development agency, technology partners and internal teams to take the platform from planning and development through testing, migration and launch.

Post-launch, you’ll lead a continuous optimisation programme driven by customer insight, analytics and commercial performance data.

    What you’ll do

    * Own the ecommerce strategy, performance and digital product roadmap.

    * Lead the delivery and launch of the next-generation ecommerce platform.

    * Translate customer and commercial needs into clear, prioritised product requirements.

    * Own ecommerce KPIs including revenue, margin, conversion, AOV, revenue per visitor, acquisition, retention and lifetime value.

    * Lead ecommerce trading and merchandising across product launches, promotions and key trading periods.

    * Improve product discovery, usability, conversion, cross-selling and the overall customer journey.

    * Use analytics, customer behaviour, research and feedback to identify and prioritise opportunities.

    * Establish a disciplined weekly and monthly ecommerce trading rhythm.

    * Build a culture of continuous testing, optimisation and measurable improvement.

    * Collaborate across Marketing, CRM, Customer Services, IT, Operations, Product and Commercial teams, as well as external technology partners.

    What success looks like

    * You’ll help make it dramatically easier for customers to discover Hornby, enter the hobby, understand what to buy next and build a long-term relationship with the brand.

    * Success will mean a stronger, more profitable website—with improved revenue, conversion, customer experience, product discovery, acquisition, retention and lifetime value—and a clear roadmap for continued digital growth.

If you’re a commercially minded digital product leader who combines customer obsession with data-driven decision-making and strong delivery skills, we’d love to hear from you.

Only suitable candidates will be directly contacted about this position, and we will not store or process the data of candidates in any way unless consent has been obtained
