How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Competition Associate – 1–6 PQE | Elite US Law Firm

    The Role


    The position sits within a market-leading Antitrust & Competition practice that operates on a global scale. The team works on matters that define the competition landscape, advising on every aspect of antitrust law, including:


    • Merger Control: Developing strategies and securing global clearances for complex and significant transactions.
    • Foreign Investment & National Security Reviews: Navigating multi-jurisdictional screening regimes related to strategic deals.
    • Behavioural & Cartel Investigations: Representing clients in EU, UK and international investigations and coordinating multi-agency responses.
    • Competition Litigation: Assisting on high-profile contentious matters, including appeals and private damages actions.
    • Digital Markets & Regulation: Advising on new regulatory frameworks surrounding technology, digital services and AI.


    The work regularly spans sectors such as technology, digital platforms, financial services, life sciences, consumer products, infrastructure and energy. Associates contribute to complex regulatory strategies, draft submissions, manage multi-jurisdictional filings and liaise with clients and competition authorities on high-profile, business-critical matters.


    What They’re Looking For


    • England & Wales qualified solicitor with 1–6 years’ PQE
    • Strong experience in competition law covering one or more of merger control, investigations or advisory compliance
    • Familiarity with CMA or European Commission processes and multi-jurisdictional filings advantageous
    • Excellent analytical skills combined with commercial acumen and a solutions-oriented approach
    • Ability to handle complex, urgent matters with precision and sound judgement
    • Prior experience at an international law firm or competition authority strongly preferred
