How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Investment Funds Associate – 2-6 PQE | Elite US Law Firm

    About the Firm

This elite US law firm is widely recognised as one of the world’s leading advisors on complex, high-value transactions. Operating in all major business centres globally, the firm represents top-tier sponsors, institutional investors and financial institutions on market-defining deals across asset classes. The London office is a strategic hub for European and emerging markets work, offering associates the opportunity to handle sophisticated multi-jurisdictional mandates within a close-knit team that combines the resources of a global platform with a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture.

Associates here benefit from the advantage of early responsibility, direct client contact and involvement in cutting-edge workstreams within an environment that supports individual development and career trajectory. The firm’s culture prizes technical excellence, fosters diversity and teamwork, and provides associates with the opportunity to work seamlessly alongside colleagues across Europe, the US, Asia and beyond on cross-border mandates of international significance.

    The Role

The position sits within a globally integrated investment funds practice delivering the full scope of services across the fund lifecycle. This highly specialised team regularly advises on formation, structuring and regulatory compliance for investment vehicles across private equity, real estate, credit and infrastructure asset classes, while also supporting clients with transactions and operational challenges post-closing. Typical mandates include:

    • Fund Formation & Structuring: Acting on the creation and operation of flagship closed-ended and open-ended funds across a variety of strategies, including bespoke structures for international sponsor-led vehicles and investor-focused mandates. Designing complex carried interest and co-investment arrangements tailored to specific regulatory and tax considerations.
    • Secondaries: Advising on GP-led recapitalisations, LP stake sales, structured secondaries and continuation fund transactions for both sponsors and major investors, including portfolio restructurings that require intricate contractual negotiations and regulatory filings across multiple jurisdictions.
    • Management Company Transactions: Handling deals involving GP stake acquisitions, sponsor spin-outs, reorganisations of existing GP platforms and minority equity arrangements, requiring a deep understanding of long-term governance frameworks and commercial alignment between stakeholders.
    • Co-Investments & Managed Accounts: Structuring arrangements to allow strategic investors to deploy capital alongside sponsor-led deals, with an emphasis on tailored economics, governance and exit provisions.
    • Regulatory & Compliance: Advising on UK, US and European regulatory regimes such as AIFMD, MiFID II and ERISA; implementing compliance frameworks for cross-border fundraising; and ensuring investor protection and disclosure obligations are met.

Day-to-day, associates in this practice will draft and negotiate constitutional and governing documentation, investor side letters, fund agreements and secondary transaction agreements. They will also coordinate multi-jurisdictional input on tax, regulatory and commercial aspects, manage due diligence exercises, and liaise extensively with clients on structuring and operational strategy.

    What They’re Looking For

    • England & Wales qualified solicitor with 2–6 years’ PQE, ideally from a leading international or US law firm
    • Broad experience in investment funds matters, including fund formation and governance; experience with secondary transactions or co-investment structures is welcomed
    • Strong technical drafter with an ability to negotiate across multiple stakeholder interests
    • Familiarity with cross-border regulatory frameworks, including AIFMD-related considerations; experience with investor-side mandates advantageous
    • Highly organised individual with commercial awareness and a solutions-driven approach to problem-solving
    • Confidence working autonomously within a fast-paced, client-facing environment and as part of a collaborative team handling global mandates

    Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join one of the most respected investment funds teams globally, advising on matters that consistently rank among the market’s most innovative and complex. Associates will have significant exposure to high-profile workstreams spanning Europe, the US, the Middle East and Africa, and enjoy direct access to decorated partners who are leaders in the industry.

The role offers top of market remuneration coupled with an attractive bonus scheme and the prestige of working on mandates for globally significant sponsors and institutional investors. The environment rewards talent and initiative, offering practical responsibility, accelerated development and a pathway to long-term progression within an elite international platform.
