How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

As part of an ambitious strategic growth plan, Huntsman are supporting a leading UK Consultancy to appoint a Lead Director to drive the continued growth of their CDM and Principal Designer service based in London.

This is a senior, commercially focused appointment for an individual who can combine market knowledge, client relationships and business development capability with a strong technical understanding of CDM and Principal Designer services.

The successful individual will take a leading role in defining and executing the growth strategy for the service across the London market.

This is an opportunity for a genuine work winner. Someone who is well connected within the London property and construction market, understands where opportunities exist and has the credibility and relationships to turn those opportunities into new business.

    • You will be responsible for developing and executing the strategic growth plan for the London CDM and Principal Designer service.
    • You will identify, develop and win new business opportunities and leverage an established network of clients, developers, investors, contractors and professional advisers.
    • You will build long term senior level client relationships and position the business as a trusted strategic adviser.
    • You will lead pitches, tenders and client presentations and identify opportunities to grow the service across existing client accounts and new markets.
    • You will provide commercial and strategic leadership to the London team and work closely with the wider leadership team to develop the firm's overall CDM and Principal Designer proposition.
    • You will also support the continued recruitment, development and growth of the team as the service expands.

    Necessary Experience

    • This role is likely to suit an experienced Partner, Director or senior Associate Director who has already demonstrated the ability to develop a market, win work and build strong client relationships.
    • You will ideally bring a strong track record in CDM, Principal Designer or wider construction health and safety consultancy.
    • You will have an established network across the London property and construction market, with demonstrable experience of winning new business and generating revenue.
    • Strong senior level client relationships and the commercial confidence to identify opportunities and convert them into instructions will be essential.
    • You will also have experience leading and developing teams, alongside strong knowledge of the CDM Regulations 2015 and the Principal Designer role.
    • Experience working for a Consultancy or similar.

This is a role for someone who wants to build something. The business has a clear strategic ambition for its CDM and Principal Designer offering, and this individual will have a significant influence on how that strategy is delivered in London.

You will have the platform, brand and wider multidisciplinary capability of an established consultancy behind you, while having the opportunity to shape the market strategy, develop key relationships, win new work and build the team around that growth.

If you are a commercially driven CDM or Principal Designer professional with a strong London network and a proven ability to win work, this could be an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the next stage of a growing service line.

Salary is dependant on level and up to £150,000 plus benefits.
