We are currently partnering with a dynamic, international energy business to recruit a Legal Counsel into their high-performing in-house legal team.
Reporting directly to the Group General Counsel and collaborating with legal colleagues across international jurisdictions, this is a standout opportunity for a junior corporate or energy/projects lawyer looking to transition in-house and gain direct exposure to major commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver pragmatic legal counsel across the full scope of business operations, with a core focus on M&A, joint ventures, commercial agreements, project development, construction, and offtake arrangements.
- Support corporate governance initiatives, board reporting, and the management of occasional contentious matters.
- Partner directly with key commercial stakeholders across various business units to help execute growth strategies and day-to-day operations.
- Instruct and manage external legal advisers to ensure matters are handled cost-effectively and aligned with strategic commercial goals.
Key Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent jurisdiction) with 1 to 2 years of post-qualification experience.
- Background in corporate, transactional, or energy law gained within a leading international law firm or a recognised in-house legal department.
- Strong academic record and well-developed technical drafting capabilities.
- Commercially minded and proactive, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with an adaptable, collaborative mindset.
- Familiarity with legal tech, automation platforms, or AI tools is beneficial.
