How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

The Operations Administrator ensures that new loss files contain a complete, accurate and auditable market breakdown so that work can be billed correctly and without avoidable delay. Acting as a key link between lead loss adjusters, brokers, Operations and Finance, the role reviews insurance policies, slips and related claims documentation; identifies the participating insurers and if required Lloyd's syndicates and their signed shares; and resolves missing or inconsistent market information. The role also provides wider operational support and development is there if that is something you would enjoy.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Review new loss notifications, loss referral or registration forms (LRRFs), policies, slips, endorsements and supporting documentation to establish the complete insurance market structure for each matter.
    • Create and maintain accurate market breakouts for losses across the UK, North America, the Middle East and Singapore, capturing the insured, broker, participating insurers or Lloyd's syndicates, written and signed shares, and relevant billing information.
    • Liaise confidently with lead loss adjusters, brokers, insurers and internal colleagues - by telephone and email - to obtain or reconcile missing information, including policy references or UMRs, claim references or UCRs, company or syndicate details, signed shares, bureau identifiers and contact information.
    • Maintain market trackers, claim or project records and supporting documentation; apply the correct client codes, request new codes where necessary, respond to status queries and preserve a clear audit trail.
    • Coordinate the information required for sanctions screening of insureds, brokers and relevant market parties, monitor completion and update market records following clearance.
    • Support Electronic Claims File (ECF), Gemini and other London Market or internal processing activities where applicable.
    • Review WIP (work-in-progress) and market data to identify matters ready for billing, highlight outstanding information and resolve preventable billing blockers.
    • Work with Finance and Operations to support accurate allocation and invoicing across market participants and assist with market, invoice or payment queries.
    • Provide broader operational support as priorities evolve, which may include claims administration, invoice production and submission, collections and related client or broker follow-up.
    • Contribute to data-quality reviews, management information, process documentation, continuous improvement initiatives and operational cover across the wider team.

    ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    • At least two years' relevant experience in London Market claims, broking operations, loss adjusting, market services or a comparable insurance operations role.
    • Practical ability to read and interpret insurance policies, slips and market documentation and to identify the participating companies or syndicates and their percentage shares.
    • Sound understanding of London Market terminology and structures, including the distinction between written and signed lines and the use of policy, UMR and claim references.
    • A confident and credible communicator who is comfortable contacting senior adjusters and brokers, asking precise questions and persistently closing information gaps.
    • Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail and working knowledge of Excel and record-management systems.
    • Ability to prioritise a varied workload, take ownership through to completion and handle confidential information with sound judgement.

    DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

    • Experience using ECF; knowledge of Gemini or a comparable London Market system would also be useful.
    • Experience of market accounting, insurer billing, invoicing, collections.
    • Familiarity with sanctions screening, client or insurer onboarding and data-quality controls.
    • Insurance qualifications, such as CII study, or equivalent practical industry knowledge would be advantageous.
