How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: The Strand, hybrid

    Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

    Job Reference number: 35695

A growing financial intelligence provider is looking for a scoop-driven Reporter to break stories on the Datacentre market.

You will be joining an editorial team which produces primary sourced deal intelligence through trusted relationships with senior leaders and dealmakers, regularly breaking news on market-defining transactions. They provide actionable intelligence insights to their audience of investors, advisors and C-suite executives.

You will be constantly talking to the key players in the datacentre market, pro-actively organising meetings to obtain off-diary insights on the stages of M&A and project financing deals. This is a natural next step for dynamic reporters, and an opportunity to report on one of the fastest growing and widely discussed beats in the market.

This is a London based role with regular in-person meetings across key financial centres.

    Key responsibilities

    • Regularly break off-diary news items on datacentre sector, including M&A deals, project financing transactions and project progress.
    • Proactively cultivate a strong book of contacts across investment banks, PE firms, corporates, and advisers, using both existing sources and outreach to source fresh contacts, and maintain relationships with those contacts.
    • Work collaboratively with other reporters to break off-diary stories, and more broadly across the organisation to support its continued growth.

    Key requirements

    • Experience reporting on business or financial topics, with experience reporting on datacentres and/or directly on M&A and project financing transactions being especially advantageous.
    • Experience developing a self-built source network, cold contacting people and then managing those relationships, and some track record of getting scoops.
    • Write concisely and accurately, conveying core insights to an expert audience.
