How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are currently looking for a Recruitment and Admissions Officer to join our busy team in Aberdeen a part-time, permanent role where your organisation, warmth and attention to detail genuinely shape people’s futures.

    Hours of Work: part time - 0.4FTE

    Recruitment and Admissions Officer Duties:

    In this role, you will deliver high-quality administrative support throughout the admissions journey, using established systems and procedures to enhance the applicant experience. You will proactively engage with prospective students, build positive relationships, and provide a friendly, supportive service that keeps applicants informed and confident. You will also support the ICRGU agent network by servicing accounts and updating lead notes via CRM, helping to improve conversion rates and ensuring a smooth path from enquiry through to enrolment. Working effectively within a cross-functional team, you will support recruitment objectives and contribute to achieving student enrolment targets.

    Recruitment and Admissions Officer Requirements:

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands
    Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a welcoming, solutions-focused approach
    High level of interpersonal and cross-cultural awareness
