We are working with a successful and growing business to recruit an experienced Import & Export Coordinator to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in international trade, customs and import/export administration who enjoys a varied role and is confident managing multiple priorities.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring goods move smoothly through the import and export process, while keeping documentation, customs requirements and internal stakeholders fully up to date.
The Role
Working closely with suppliers, shippers, buyers and internal teams, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination of import and export activity.
You will need to be highly organised, commercially aware and comfortable working with detailed documentation and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate import and export shipments from start to finish
Manage customs clearance requirements and documentation
Prepare and process relevant HMRC documentation
Calculate and understand VAT and duty charges
Liaise with customs agents, freight forwarders, suppliers and shippers
Monitor shipments and ensure deliveries arrive as planned
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and shipping partners
Chase outstanding orders and provide regular updates to buyers
Book incoming orders and deliveries onto internal systems
Monitor and manage multiple email inboxes
Maintain accurate records, filing and supporting documentation
Provide general administrative support across the wider team
Identify and resolve issues relating to deliveries, documentation and customs
Ensure all import/export activity is compliant with relevant regulations and procedures
About You
We're looking for someone with proven experience in an import/export, customs, logistics or international trade environment.
You'll ideally have:
Previous experience working with imports and exports
Good working knowledge of customs clearance
Understanding of VAT and duty charges and calculations
Experience dealing with HMRC documentation
Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data and spreadsheets
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and shippers
The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
A proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving
Good general administration skills
