Job Description:
We are looking for Senior Oracle Database Administrators to join the
DBA team in the Legal Aid Agency. We are on a mission to modernise, maintain and make better digital services for the Legal Aid Agency. Lead DBAs will be supported by and work under the guidance of the Principal DBA. They will support
and guide Senior DBAs.
We are seeking a DBA who has a desire to drive the modernisation
of our teams to true DevOps. You will be part of a multidisciplinary
team, placing emphasis on automation of operational tasks, better
monitoring and alerting, whilst your traditional operations experience
will help ensure that the underlying databases are stable, secure
and support change at the speed of business.
Our Oracle databases are hosted in AWS. These databases
underpin a number of applications built with several Oracle products (mainly Oracle E-Business Suite, SOA, Portal, IAM, Weblogic, OHS,
APEX).
Essential Skills/Experience
Expert experience working with AWS cloud, core AWS services such as EC2, RDS, Lambda and S3
Expert experience of setting up and maintaining continuous delivery and deployment pipelines.
Expert experience upgrading and migrating PL/SQL based applications
Oracle database versions 10g/11g/12c on Unix/Linux
Expert experience of Oracle SQL tuning - execution plans, indexes, hints, and legacy optimiser quirks.
Expert experience of schema design & data modelling in alegacy ERP context.
Installation, patching and upgrades
Practitioner Experience in working on RMAN/OEM
Expert experience working on Oracle E-Business Suite R12.
Expert experience working with SOA, Weblogic, Portal, IAM.
Expert experience of EBS concurrent managers
Weblogic Clustering and JVM tuning
Automation of administrative tasks via scripting
Practitioner knowledge of Git
Ability to create and utilise AWS Cloud Formation templates to automate creation of AWS images.
Practitioner experience working in Agile product delivery teams
Excellent mentoring, coaching and skills transfer capabilitiesDesirable Experience
