How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our growing Water consultancy client is seeking Civil Design Engineers to support on a range of water/wastewater infrastructure based out of their Fleet offices on a permanent basis with hybrid working.

    You will be focusing on the design and development of water and wastewater treatment infrastructure. The role will involve delivering high-quality civil engineering solutions, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and supporting the successful execution of critical projects. You will collaborate with engineers, designers and project managers to develop and refine designs that meet both client and industry expectations.

    The role is Fleet based with occasional need for site visits.

    Our client is a UK-based multidisciplinary engineering consultancy specialising in providing market-leading design, implementation and support solutions for the water and wastewater industry, in both network and treatment. They focus on innovative, sustainable solutions that address complex engineering challenges within the water industry, collaborating with clients on a wide range of projects including infrastructure design, environmental impact reduction, and network resilience enhancements.

    Responsibilities

    Design & Engineering: Develop and implement civil engineering designs for water and wastewater treatment projects.
    Technical Drawings & Models: Work closely with CAD Technicians to create and maintain accurate drawings and models.
    Project Collaboration: Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
    Compliance & Standards: Ensure designs adhere to UK water industry regulations (WIMES, DSEAR, BS/EU standards).
    Site Support: Assist with site inspections, assessments, and technical guidance as needed.
    Problem Solving: Apply engineering principles to develop sustainable and cost-effective solutions.Skills/experience/qualifications

    Experience: Minimum 1-5 years experience of civil design engineering, ideally with the water and wastewater sector.
    Qualifications: Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or a related field
    Technical Expertise: Understanding of hydraulic design, reinforced concrete structures, and pipeline design.
    Software Proficiency: Expertise with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, or similar engineering design tools.
    Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with UK water industry standards and regulations.
    Teamwork & Communication: Strong ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with engineers, designers, and clients.
    Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical thinking to develop efficient, practical engineering solutions.Benefits
