How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Maritime Coordinator

    Location: Humber Region - Office-Based

    Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 DOE

Hours: Full-Time, 35 hours per week - flexible between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM

    Contract: Permanent

I am delighted to be exclusively partnering with an established maritime business in the Humber region, with an impressive history and deep roots within the local commercial community.

This is an organisation that genuinely prides itself on its culture and staff retention, with many employees building long-term, rewarding careers within the team.

The company is also about to embark on an exciting period of growth, creating further opportunities and genuine career development for the right person joining the business.

    The Opportunity

We are looking for a Maritime Coordinator to join the team - and we are deliberately keeping an open mind when it comes to your background and previous industry experience.

You might already work in an operational, administrative or coordination environment. Equally, you might come from a completely different sector but have exactly the transferable skills we are looking for.

For the right person, this is an excellent opportunity to step into a structured coordination role, learn a new sector and grow alongside an established local business.

    What Will You Be Doing?

This is a varied, people-focused coordination role for someone who enjoys organising multiple moving parts and making sure daily operations run smoothly.

    Your day could involve:

Coordinating busy team schedules and rotas
Managing bookings, requests and changing requirements
Communicating effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
Maintaining accurate records, documentation and internal systems
    Monitoring key dates and deadlines
Supporting general administration across the department
Dealing confidently with unexpected operational changes and finding quick solutions
Processing routine team administration, including timesheets and records

    What Are We Looking For?

There will be plenty to learn in this role and full training will be provided, so we are not expecting you to walk through the door knowing everything.

What is essential is a genuine willingness to learn and the ability to pick up new information, systems and processes quickly.

We are looking for someone who is naturally curious, asks questions, takes information on board and genuinely wants to understand how things work.

    You'll also need:

Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
    Strong people and communication skills
The ability to juggle multiple priorities under pressure
    Confidence dealing with last-minute changes
    A proactive, solutions-focused approach
    A genuine team-player mindset
A willingness to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in

    Who Could This Suit?

    We are genuinely open-minded.

    You could come from:

    Transport, haulage or logistics administration
Executive assistance, secretarial or diary management
    Travel, bookings or reservations
    Recruitment, HR or personnel administration
    General office management
    Customer service or account coordination
    Scheduling or planning
    High-volume administrative environments
The sector on your CV is less important than your ability to demonstrate the right attitude, aptitude and transferable skills.

    Working Hours & Key Dates

Working Pattern: 35 hours per week, with flexible start and finish times scheduled between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM

    Location: 100% Office-Based - Humber Region

Applications will be reviewed throughout the advertising period, and shortlisted candidates will be contacted regarding the next stage of the process.

Apply today or contact Naomi Coates at Winsearch for a confidential conversation.
