How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Accounts Manager – City of London – £85,000

    Location: City of London
    Salary: £85,000
    Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm

    An excellent opportunity has arisen with one of our clients for an experienced Accounts Manager to join their team on a prestigious site in the City of London.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful and profitable delivery of a large facilities management contract, leading and developing a team of multi-skilled engineers while ensuring all contractual, operational, financial, and compliance obligations are consistently achieved.

    You will work closely with the Key Account Manager, Contract Managers, Contract Support teams, engineers, clients, and supply chain partners, providing leadership, technical support, mentoring, and operational guidance. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, commercially focused professional with strong leadership skills, excellent customer-service experience, and a proven track record of managing P&L, budgets, WIP, debt, SLAs, and KPIs.

    Key Responsibilities
    Take overall responsibility for the successful and profitable delivery of contracts valued at approximately £3m–£5m.
    Lead, motivate, support, and develop a team of engineers, ensuring effective people-management processes and a culture of performance and continuous improvement.
    Manage contract P&L, budgets, margins, WIP, debt, and financial performance.
    Ensure contractual obligations, SLAs, KPIs, and service standards are consistently achieved.
    Provide regular financial and performance reports to both the client and internal management teams.
    Monitor and manage Work in Progress to ensure all works are delivered within agreed budgets and timescales.
    Oversee the invoicing process, ensuring completion certificates and financial applications are submitted accurately and on time.
    Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including performance reviews, compliance, audits, training, and value-for-money assessments.
    Act as a key customer interface, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring contractual requirements are clearly understood across the delivery team.
    Support Contract Managers and Contract Support with proactive works and escalated reactive tasks.
    Analyse KPI and SLA performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement initiatives to drive operational efficiency.
    Support the delivery of productivity and cost-reduction targets across the contract.
    Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, company policies, and contractual requirements.
    Support tender submissions, including costing, asset verification, tender returns, and presentations where required.
    Lead and support continuous improvement programmes and ensure best practices are consistently implemented.
    Support employee development, succession planning, talent management, and apprenticeship programmes.
    Create and maintain a culture of cooperation, collaboration, and teamwork across the operation.
    Produce and distribute key management information and performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    Support the development and implementation of the wider Maintenance Services strategy.Requirements
    City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2 Electrical Installation or a recognised equivalent qualification.
    18th Edition BS7671 qualification.
    Proven experience managing facilities management or engineering contracts valued at approximately £2m–£4m+.
    Demonstrable experience of P&L management, cost control, budget management, and margin achievement.
    Strong understanding of WIP and debt management.
    Proven ability to manage contractual SLAs, KPIs, and performance targets.
    Experience leading, managing, and developing engineering teams.
    Experience handling employee relations and performance-management processes, including attendance, disciplinary, and capability matters.
    Strong commercial and financial awareness.
    Excellent customer-facing and stakeholder-management skills.
    Experience managing subcontractors and key suppliers.
    Strong understanding of health, safety, compliance, and statutory requirements within an engineering/facilities environment.
    Ability to create a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
    Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills
