The Opportunity
An established renewable energy business is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support its project and operational teams across the UK.
This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining high health and safety standards across renewable energy projects, combining office-based duties with site visits as required. You will provide practical H&S guidance, ensure legislative compliance and help promote a positive safety culture throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities
Review and improve Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) prior to works commencing.
Carry out regular site inspections and H&S audits, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
Monitor compliance with company procedures, UK health and safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformances, producing reports and preventative recommendations.
Develop and review H&S policies, procedures and supporting documentation.
Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings and promote positive safety behaviours.
Provide practical H&S advice to management, project teams, contractors and site personnel.
Support contractor pre-qualification and competency assessments.
Liaise with external H&S specialists to support compliance and continuous improvement.
Assist wider project teams with ad hoc coordination activities when required.
About You
NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent – essential.
Previous H&S experience within construction, electrical, renewable energy or a closely related environment.
Experience reviewing and approving RAMS.
Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and CDM Regulations.
Methodical, organised and process-focused approach.
Strong communication and report-writing skills.
Competent with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites when required.
