How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The role would suit someone with strong CAD skills and a practical understanding of how furniture and products are manufactured and assembled.

    Main Responsibilities

    * Develop bespoke furniture from client briefs, specifications, approved concepts and site-survey information.

    * Prepare drawings and technical information for manufacture, assembly and installation.

    * Ensure designs are suitable for available machinery, materials and manufacturing methods.

    * Check designs for accuracy, functionality, buildability and compliance with specifications.

    * Maintain accurate drawing revisions, files and design records.

    * Liaise with production, project management and installation teams to resolve technical queries.

    * Identify potential design, manufacturing or installation issues and propose practical solutions.

    * Attend design reviews, project meetings, site surveys or installation visits when required.

    * Work to agreed project programmes and communicate any issues that may affect deadlines.

    Essential Skills and Experience

    * Experience using SolidWorks or a comparable 3D CAD package.

    * Ability to produce clear and accurate manufacturing and assembly drawings.

    * Good understanding of dimensions, tolerances, materials, fixings and manufacturing methods.

    * Strong spatial awareness and attention to detail.

    * Practical problem-solving skills.

    * Ability to interpret design briefs, specifications and site information.

    * Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

    * Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    * Good written, verbal and general IT skills.

    Desirable Skills and Experience

    * Experience within furniture, joinery, cabinetry, interior fit-out or a related manufacturing environment.

    * Experience designing products for CNC or automated manufacturing.

    * Knowledge of sheet materials, timber products, laminates, solid surfaces, metalwork, glass and hardware.

    * Understanding of design for manufacture and assembly.

    * Experience working from site surveys or architectural drawings.

    * Relevant qualification in product design, furniture design, engineering, CAD or a related subject.
