How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Regional Sales Manager

Location: SO/PO/GU Postcodes & 2 days per week in Andover office
Salary: Up to £60,000 DOE + Company Car/Car Allowance
    Hours: Monday to Friday, full-time

Are you an ambitious, commercially minded sales professional who knows the construction or trade environment and is ready to take real ownership of a region?

We’re looking for a Regional Sales Manager to join a growing business within the construction sector. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being out in the field, meeting customers, developing relationships and identifying opportunities.

This isn’t a traditional account management position where you simply manage an existing portfolio. You’ll be responsible for developing your territory, increasing customer engagement, supporting local trade stores and uncovering new commercial opportunities.

We’re looking for someone with the energy and ambition to make the region their own — someone who can plan their week, get out in front of customers and take responsibility for their results without needing to be micromanaged.

    What you’ll be doing
Taking ownership of your assigned region and developing its sales potential
Visiting customers and prospective customers regularly to build strong face-to-face relationships
Developing existing relationships while actively identifying new business opportunities
Supporting trade stores across your region and helping them achieve their sales targets
Driving customer footfall and encouraging customers to use their local trade stores
Promoting the brand, products, catalogues and current promotions
Identifying opportunities within smaller and developing accounts and helping them grow
Prospecting within your territory and developing new commercial relationships
Visiting new customer sites and following up on potential opportunities
Identifying larger opportunities and working with the relevant internal teams to progress them
Working towards regional sales and turnover targets
Supporting quotations, customer enquiries and follow-up activity
Working closely with Store Managers, Regional Account Managers and wider commercial teams
Supporting trade events, promotional activity and customer engagement initiatives
Planning your own diary and weekly activity, with clear accountability for your performance
Spending two days per week in the Andover office, with the remainder of your time focused on your region What we’re looking for
Full UK Driving Licence – essential
Proven experience in field sales, regional sales, business development or a similar commercial role
Strong knowledge of the construction, building products or trade sector
Ideally, experience working with builders merchants, trade stores or within a practical construction environment
A proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
Someone who is hungry, energetic and genuinely ambitious
A confident and personable communicator who can build relationships at all levels
Commercially minded, with a natural ability to spot opportunities and turn them into sales
Highly self-motivated and comfortable working independently
Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan and manage your own territory
Adaptable and open-minded, with a willingness to embrace new ideas and ways of working
Honest, accountable and comfortable taking ownership of your results
Confident enough to challenge and develop opportunities, but humble enough to listen and learn
Someone who wants to make a region their own and build something long-term You’ll have the freedom to manage your own territory, build relationships and develop new opportunities, while having the support of an established store and commercial network around you.

We’re not necessarily looking for the person with the longest sales CV. We’re looking for someone with the right combination of construction knowledge, commercial ability, energy and ambition.

If you’re someone who is hungry to succeed, enjoys being out in front of customers and wants to take ownership of a region, this could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.
