Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 1 Class Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Southend-on-Sea from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced primary teacher or an Early Career Teacher looking to join a supportive school where high-quality teaching, strong relationships and pupil development are at the heart of everything they do.

The Role

As the Year 1 Class Teacher, you will take responsibility for creating an engaging, well-structured and inclusive learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their potential.

Your responsibilities will include:

Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the Year 1 curriculum

Creating a positive and stimulating classroom environment

Supporting pupils as they transition from the Early Years into Key Stage 1

Differentiating learning to meet a range of abilities and needs

Monitoring pupil progress and using assessment effectively

Developing positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues

Promoting positive behaviour and high expectations

Working collaboratively with colleagues across the school

Contributing to the wider life of the school and its community

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a teacher who is enthusiastic, organised and passionate about primary education, with a genuine commitment to helping children develop a love of learning.

You will ideally have:

QTS or recognised UK teaching qualification

Experience teaching within Key Stage 1

A good understanding of the Year 1 curriculum

Strong classroom management skills

The ability to plan engaging and appropriately challenging lessons

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A nurturing and inclusive approach to supporting pupils
