Established Main Contractor – Building Safety & Regeneration
Opportunity
This is an opportunity for a Senior Site Manager to join a respected main contractor at the outset of a technically demanding high-rise residential remediation scheme in Manchester. Expected to start in mid-October 2026, subject to final Building Safety Regulator approval and contract execution, the project covers the removal and replacement of the external façade across three occupied 13-storey blocks, with an approximate value of £14m and an 82-week programme.
Working directly beneath an experienced Project Lead, the Senior Site Manager will be the senior operational presence on site and play a major part in establishing how the project is delivered from day one. This is not a role for someone who only wants to oversee one narrow package. The contractor needs a rounded main-contracting manager who can control the wider site operation, understand the interfaces around the building envelope and take genuine ownership of delivery.
Previous façade, cladding or external-envelope experience is important. A Façade Manager ready to step into broader site leadership would also be considered, provided they can demonstrate strong programme, subcontractor, health and safety, quality and logistics control.
Responsibilities
As Senior Site Manager, you will lead the day-to-day site operation, translating the Project Lead’s delivery strategy into a safe, coordinated and achievable programme. You will manage specialist subcontractors, sequencing, procurement interfaces, temporary works, scaffold activity and the detailed coordination between façade, fire-safety and associated internal works.
The Senior Site Manager will maintain high standards of health and safety, quality assurance and record keeping on a Higher-Risk Building project, ensuring work is inspected, evidenced and closed out correctly. You will chair progress meetings, identify risks early, drive short-term planning and work closely with commercial, design and resident-facing colleagues to keep delivery moving with minimal disruption to occupants.
What's in it for you
The successful Senior Site Manager will receive up to £75,000 plus a car or car allowance and join a privately owned contractor with an established building-safety and refurbishment capability. You will have the autonomy to shape a new site team, the backing of a dedicated Project Lead and exposure to a growing area of technically complex construction.
Beyond this scheme, the Senior Site Manager will be well placed for future remediation, refurbishment or wider main-contracting projects, with potential routes into other parts of the business as the regional pipeline develops.
Application Process
If you’re ready to bring your experience in site management and façade delivery to a forward-thinking company, we want to hear from you. Apply today, and we will contact you within 3 working days if your application has been shortlisted.
