This role would suit a chef who enjoys the variety and pace of country house hotel operations and is confident stepping into a Sous Chef position to support the kitchen team as required.

What's involved?

As Relief Sous Chef, you will support the senior kitchen team in maintaining high standards across all sections. You will play a key role in:

Running sections confidently during service
Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef team
Leading and supporting junior chefs
Delivering consistency across lunch, afternoon tea and dinner
Maintaining high standards during busy, high-volume services
Ensuring excellent food quality, presentation and kitchen standardsThe ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience at Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef level
Experience within a strong 2 AA Rosette (or equivalent) kitchen
A background in high-volume, quality-driven environments
Confidence across multiple service styles, including afternoon tea
A passion for seasonal, ingredient-led cooking
Strong organisation and communication skills
