How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    HR Support Officer

    £29,677 per annum - Grade 3 Leeds / Hybrid

    Full time – 37 hours per week

    Fixed term for up to 2 years

    Please note that the Combined Authority will consider requests for part-time working and/or job share. Due to the substantive postholder securing a development opportunity within the HR team, we are seeking applications for a HR Support Officer to join our Human Resources team on a fixed term contract basis for up to two years.

    The Human Resources (HR) team support staff and managers with a broad spectrum of people related issues. As an HR Support Officer, you will provide recruitment and administrative operations support to outcome directorates, contribute to policy and process improvement and ensure compliance with internal policy and legislative requirements.

    You will be highly organised with excellent attention to detail and work collaboratively with colleagues across the Combined Authority. With an ability to build positive relationships and deliver excellent customer service, you will also be able to work confidently with databases and systems to support the wider HR team.     The Role

    Reporting into the HR Business Partner, your key responsibilities will include:

    Delivering a professional and efficient HR administration service including end-to-end recruitment, issuing contractual documentation, and ensuring HR systems are accurate and up to date.

    Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure fair and transparent recruitment and day to-day HR operations.

    Acting as a first point of contact for HR queries and customer support, managing the HR and recruitment inboxes, and contributing to process and operational development.

    Please note that the Role Profile for this post is in review and there may be some changes to responsibility as the role is onboarded. The successful candidate will be included in the consultation related to these changes if required.

    Interviews for this post are expected to be held on the 4 September 2026.

    About You

    You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:

    · Experience of providing high quality administrative support within an office environment.

    · Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy.

    · Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    · Experience of maintaining confidential and sensitive information with excellent attention to detail.

    · Good working knowledge of HR processes including recruitment and contractual changes.
