My client is looking for an experienced AWS Network Engineer to join their Cloud Networking team and play a key role in managing and evolving large-scale AWS networking and cloud security infrastructure.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on AWS networking, firewall management, troubleshooting, automation, and operational excellence. You will work closely with platform, security, and engineering teams to design, build, and operate resilient cloud network solutions supporting critical production environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, operate, and troubleshoot AWS networking environments.
Manage and optimize AWS networking services, including:
VPCs
Transit Gateway
Gateway Load Balancer
Route Tables
NAT Gateways
VPN Connectivity
VPC Peering
Own and operate cloud firewall infrastructure, including policy management, upgrades, and security controls.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable networking solutions.
Investigate and resolve complex network and security incidents.
Support the transition and operational ownership of existing AWS firewall deployments.
Contribute to network automation initiatives using Python and Infrastructure as Code.
Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on AWS networking experience, including design, deployment, operations, and troubleshooting.
Deep knowledge of:
VPC Architecture
Transit Gateway
Gateway Load Balancer
Routing and Connectivity
VPN Solutions
Experience managing cloud firewall solutions in AWS.
Practical firewall experience with:
Palo Alto Networks (preferred)
Fortinet
Cisco
Check Point
Strong troubleshooting and incident management capabilities.
Python scripting and automation experience (3+ years preferred).
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Palo Alto VM-Series deployment experience in AWS.
Terraform, CloudFormation, or Infrastructure as Code experience.
Cloud security and network security expertise.
Experience taking ownership of security services within cloud environments.
