How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    As an Interim Maintenance Operative in Goole, you'll play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry. Your day-to-day will involve hands-on maintenance tasks, ensuring equipment and facilities are in top condition to support productivity.

    Key Responsibilities

    Health, Safety & Compliance

    Maintain a strong focus on Health & Safety, ensuring compliance at all times.
    Report and escalate any risks, hazards, or unsafe practices immediately.
    Support site audits, compliance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.Maintenance & Operations

    Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on site machinery and equipment.
    Maintain spare parts inventory and planned maintenance schedules.
    Support engineering projects, equipment installations, and commissioning activities.
    Liaise with external contractors, including electricians and plumbers, as required.
    Ensure maintenance records, procedures, and plant logs are accurate and up to date.
    Assist with site preparations for internal, external, and regulatory audits.
    Perform general site maintenance and ensure equipment remains operational and well-maintained.Team & Culture

    Promote company values, site standards, and safe working practices.
    Identify training and development needs where appropriate.
    Communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders across the business.
    Contribute to a positive, compliant, and continuous improvement-focused working environment.

    Profile

    A successful Interim Maintenance Operative should have:

    Practical skills in mechanical or electrical maintenance.
    A proactive approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting.
    Knowledge of health and safety standards in a maintenance environment.
    Experience working in a busy industry, ideally FMCG.
