How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Project Quantity Surveyor - London

A growing London-based development and construction consultancy is looking to appoint a Project Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team. Working across commercial and mixed-use schemes, this is a strong opportunity for a Project Quantity Surveyor who wants greater responsibility, closer client exposure and the chance to work within a more hands-on consultancy environment.

The successful Project Quantity Surveyor will manage projects across both pre and post contract stages, supporting clients from early feasibility and cost planning through procurement, construction and final account. The Project Quantity Surveyor will work closely with developers, architects, contractors and wider consultant teams, providing clear cost advice and ensuring commercial matters are controlled throughout the project lifecycle.

This role would suit a confident Project Quantity Surveyor with solid UK consultancy experience who is ready to take ownership of their own commissions. The Project Quantity Surveyor will benefit from a varied workload, direct access to senior colleagues and the opportunity to build stronger client relationships while progressing towards Senior Quantity Surveyor level.

Project Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:

Preparing cost plans, estimates and development budgets

Producing tender documentation and managing tender processes

Advising clients on procurement and commercial strategy

Managing valuations, variations and change control

Preparing cost reports and monitoring project expenditure

    Negotiating and agreeing final accounts

Attending client, design team and site meetings

Managing projects from inception through to completion

Project Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline

Strong UK PQS, cost consultancy or development consultancy experience

Working towards MRICS through the RICS APC, or already chartered

Good knowledge of JCT contracts and UK procurement routes

Experience across both pre- and post-contract duties

Strong commercial awareness and numerical ability

Confident communicating with clients, consultants and contractors

    In Return:

    £55,000 - £60,000 per annum

    London-based role

Varied residential, commercial and mixed-use projects

High level of project ownership and client exposure

    Support towards continued professional development

Clear progression towards Senior Quantity Surveyor level

If you are a Project Quantity Surveyor considering your career opportunities, then please contact Dan McEvoy at Brandon James.
