How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Commercial Manager - London

    A leading independent construction and property consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to join their London team. Working across major developments and complex programmes throughout the capital, this is an excellent opportunity for a Commercial Manager to become part of a highly respected business with a strong reputation for delivering commercial and cost management services across a broad range of sectors.

    The successful Commercial Manager will take responsibility for the commercial performance of projects from early procurement and contract strategy through to delivery and final account. The Commercial Manager will work closely with clients, project teams, contractors and consultants, providing clear commercial advice while maintaining control over cost, risk and contractual obligations.

    This position would suit a commercially focused Commercial Manager with strong UK construction experience who is confident working on significant and technically challenging projects. The Commercial Manager will have the opportunity to take ownership of key commissions, strengthen senior client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the consultancy's commercial management offering.

    Commercial Manager - Key Responsibilities:

    Managing commercial strategy across major construction projects and programmes

    Preparing and reviewing budgets, forecasts and commercial reports

    Leading procurement, tendering and contractor negotiations

    Managing valuations, variations, change control and final accounts

    Identifying and mitigating commercial and contractual risks

    Advising clients on procurement routes, contract strategy and project performance

    Managing contractor and consultant commercial relationships

    Supporting project teams with accurate financial and contractual reporting

    Commercial Manager - Candidate Requirements:

    Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline

    MRICS, MCIOB or equivalent recognised professional qualification preferred

    Strong UK commercial management or Quantity Surveying experience

    Good knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts

    Proven experience managing large or complex construction projects

    Strong negotiation, reporting and stakeholder management skills

    Commercially astute with the confidence to advise senior clients independently

    In Return:

    £60,000 - £70,000 per annum
