How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an ad hoc position, with shifts offered according to client requirements and event schedules. It is ideal for individuals looking for flexible work within the events and security industry.

    Key Responsibilities

    Your duties may include:

    * Welcoming and assisting members of the public on arrival.

    * Providing directions and general event information.

    * Supporting safe entry and exit from event venues.

    * Assisting with queue and crowd management.

    * Monitoring designated areas and reporting concerns to supervisors.

    * Helping maintain clear access routes, entrances and emergency exits.

    * Supporting the safe movement of attendees throughout the venue.

    * Checking tickets, passes or accreditation where required.

    * Assisting with parking, pedestrian flow and designated access areas where required.

    * Identifying and reporting potential safety hazards or incidents.

    * Following event-specific Assignment Instructions, risk assessments and emergency procedures.

    * Escalating incidents promptly to the Event Supervisor or Management Team.

    * Maintaining a professional, approachable and customer-focused manner throughout the event.

    * Working effectively as part of a wider event and security team.

    Candidate Requirements

We are looking for individuals who are:

    * Reliable, punctual and professional.

    * Confident communicating with members of the public.

    * Friendly and approachable while able to remain assertive when necessary.

    * Able to follow instructions and established procedures.

    * Comfortable working in busy environments and around large groups of people.

    * Able to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations.

    * Flexible regarding working hours and locations.

    * Well presented and committed to maintaining professional standards.

    * Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Previous experience in event stewarding, customer service, hospitality, crowd management or security is desirable but not essential, as appropriate guidance and site-specific information will be provided.

    SIA Licence

An SIA licence is not required for general stewarding duties where the role does not involve licensable security activities.

All Event Stewards representing Pace Protection & Training Ltd are expected to:

    * Arrive on time and ready for duty.

    * Wear the required uniform and maintain a professional appearance.

    * Treat colleagues, clients and members of the public with dignity and respect.

    * Follow reasonable instructions from supervisors and management.

    * Maintain confidentiality and comply with company policies.

    * Immediately report incidents, hazards or safeguarding concerns.

    * Uphold the professional reputation and standards of Pace Protection & Training Ltd at all times.
