How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Our Vacancy

As a Stock Condition Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in shaping how Peabody invests in and maintains its homes. Your work will directly influence asset strategy, ensuring our properties are safe, compliant, and fit for the future. This is a great opportunity to combine technical expertise with real impact - supporting high-quality homes while delivering a strong customer experience across a diverse housing portfolio.

    What you’ll do

    * Carry out stock condition surveys across Peabody’s homes and communal areas

    * Collect accurate data on building components, repairs, and lifecycle costs to inform future investment

    * Undertake HHSRS surveys, fire risk assessments, and DDA audits to ensure compliance

    * Upload and maintain high-quality data within asset management systems

    * Provide clear, practical advice on property condition to support planned works programmes

    * Work closely with internal teams and external partners to support delivery of investment programmes

    * Engage with residents professionally and build positive working relationships

    * Ensure all site activity is conducted in line with health and safety regulations

This role includes regular travel across your region to visit properties and requires a Basic DBS check.

    What you’ll need

    * Experience delivering stock condition surveys and related assessments (e.g. HHSRS, DDA audits, fire risk assessments)

    * HND/HNC in Building or equivalent technical qualification

    * Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance

    * Ability to work independently, managing your own workload effectively

    * High attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy

    * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

    * A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle

When you join Peabody, you’re joining a team guided by our values, Be Kind, Do the Right Thing, Love New Ideas, Celebrate Diversity, Keep Our Promises, and Pull Together.

We believe in creating a workplace where everyone feels supported, included, and empowered.

    What We Offer

    * 30 days’ annual holiday, plus bank holidays

    * two additional paid volunteering days each year

    * flexible benefits scheme, including family friendly benefits and access to a discount portal

    * 4 x salary life assurance

    * up to 10% pension contribution

If this sounds like we are right for you and you’d love to be part of Peabody, we’d like to hear from you. Please apply now by submitting an anonymised CV and a short statement explaining why you’re the perfect fit for this role.

If you have any questions about this role, please email Talent Specialist, Jo Shorey.

Interviews will be taking place during the week commencing 21st September 2026

We reserve the right to close this advert early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications.
