How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Welder Fabricator - Stainless Steel

    Location: Livingston
    Job Type: Full-time
    Salary: £32,604 per year
    Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 6:00am - 4:00pm
    Holiday: 26.5 days annual leave (pro rata)

    About the Role

    Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Welder Fabricator to join our manufacturing team in Livingston.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled TIG/MIG welder with hands-on experience working with stainless steel. You will be involved in a wide range of fabrication projects, producing high-quality components, pipework and bespoke fabrications.

    Previous stainless-steel welding experience is essential for this role. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail and is confident working in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

    Every project is different, so the ability to read drawings, solve problems and adapt to different requirements is essential.

    Key Responsibilities

    Carry out TIG and MIG welding to a high standard, particularly on stainless steel
    Fabricate stainless-steel components, pipework and sheet-metal assemblies
    Read and work from engineering and fabrication drawings
    Measure accurately and work within specified tolerances
    Complete fabrication projects from start to finish
    Use hand and air tools safely and effectively
    Work on bespoke and custom-built projects, sometimes using sketches or limited drawings
    Identify and resolve fabrication and welding issues
    Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area
    Support the wider production team with additional workshop tasks when required

    Skills & Experience

    Essential:

    Proven experience in TIG and MIG welding
    Practical experience welding stainless steel
    Ability to produce clean, consistent, high-quality welds
    Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
    Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
    Good measuring and fabrication skills
    Strong problem-solving skills
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    Good communication skillsDesirable:

    Previous fabrication experience
    Experience working with stainless-steel pipework and sheet metal
    Experience working on bespoke or one-off fabrication projectsA welding test will be required before starting.
