The Opportunity
We are working with a leading MEP contractor delivering a major new-build and refurbishment prison project in East London, who are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Site Manager to join the project team.
This is a long-term contract opportunity working on a complex MEP project, overseeing the delivery of electrical services and managing subcontractors, site teams and project stakeholders.
Previous prison experience is not essential. Candidates with strong electrical site management experience across commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial or other complex construction projects will be considered.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee electrical installation works across the project.
*
Coordinate electrical subcontractors, engineers and site operatives.
*
Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and project programmes.
*
Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the Project Manager.
*
Coordinate electrical works with mechanical, construction and other MEP disciplines.
*
Carry out regular site inspections and ensure high standards of workmanship.
*
Ensure electrical installations comply with relevant regulations and project specifications.
*
Manage RAMS, permits, inspections and associated site documentation.
*
Identify and resolve technical and logistical issues on site.
*
Attend site meetings and liaise with subcontractors, consultants and client representatives.
*
Support testing, commissioning and handover of electrical systems.
*
Maintain high standards of health & safety throughout the project.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
*
Previous experience as an Electrical Site Manager / Electrical Supervisor / Electrical Construction Manager.
*
Strong electrical building services knowledge.
*
Experience working for an MEP or electrical contractor.
*
Proven experience managing electrical subcontractors and site teams.
*
Good understanding of electrical drawings and specifications.
*
Strong knowledge of health & safety and quality requirements.
*
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
*
Experience delivering electrical packages on major construction projects.
Prison, secure environment or government project experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
