The Opportunity
We are currently working with a leading MEP contractor delivering a major new-build and refurbishment prison project in East London, and they are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to join the project team.
This is a long-term opportunity working on a complex MEP project, overseeing the delivery of mechanical services and coordinating subcontractors, site teams and other project stakeholders.
Previous prison experience is not essential. Candidates with strong mechanical site management experience across commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial or other complex construction projects will be considered.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee mechanical installation works across the project.
*
Coordinate mechanical subcontractors, engineers and site operatives.
*
Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and project programmes.
*
Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the Project Manager.
*
Coordinate mechanical works with electrical, construction and other MEP disciplines.
*
Carry out regular site inspections and ensure high standards of workmanship.
*
Ensure mechanical installations comply with relevant regulations and project specifications.
*
Manage RAMS, permits, inspections and associated site documentation.
*
Identify and resolve technical and logistical issues on site.
*
Attend site meetings and liaise with subcontractors, consultants and client representatives.
*
Support testing, commissioning and handover of mechanical systems.
*
Maintain high standards of health & safety throughout the project.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
*
Previous experience as a Mechanical Site Manager / Mechanical Supervisor / Mechanical Construction Manager.
*
Strong mechanical building services knowledge.
*
Experience working for an MEP or mechanical contractor.
*
Proven experience managing mechanical subcontractors and site teams.
*
Good understanding of mechanical drawings and specifications.
*
Strong knowledge of health & safety and quality requirements.
*
Prison, secure environment or government project experience would be advantageous but is not essential.Excellent communication and organisational skills.
*
Experience delivering mechanical packages on major construction projects.
