Project: New Build & Refurbishment Prison
The Opportunity
We are currently working with a leading MEP contractor who are delivering a major new-build and refurbishment prison project and are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Site Manager to join the project team.
This is a long-term opportunity offering £325–£350 per day, working on a complex project with significant electrical and MEP installations.
Previous prison experience is not essential. We are happy to consider Electrical Site Managers with strong experience across commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial or other complex construction environments.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee electrical installation works across the project.
*
Coordinate electrical subcontractors, engineers and site operatives.
*
Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications and project programmes.
*
Monitor progress and report to the Project Manager.
*
Liaise with subcontractors, engineers, clients and other project stakeholders.
*
Carry out regular site inspections and ensure quality standards are maintained.
*
Ensure electrical works comply with relevant regulations and project specifications.
*
Manage RAMS, permits, inspections and associated site documentation.
*
Identify and resolve technical and logistical issues.
*
Support testing, commissioning and handover.
*
Maintain high standards of health & safety across the site.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
*
Previous experience as an Electrical Site Manager / Electrical Supervisor / Electrical Construction Manager.
*
Strong electrical installation and building services knowledge.
*
Experience working for an MEP or electrical contractor.
*
Proven experience managing subcontractors and site teams.
*
Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and specifications.
*
Strong understanding of health & safety and quality requirements.
*
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
*
A proven track record of delivering electrical packages on major construction projects.
Prison, secure environment or government project experience is advantageous but not essential.
