How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Job Coach: Pre and Supported Internships
    Location: Rotherham Campus
    Salary: £26,094 a year + benefits
Vacancy Type: Permanent, 37 hours a week, all year round + holidays
Closing Date: 07th of September 2026
Not everyone sees potential, but you do! We’re looking for an enthusiastic, creative and people-focused Job Coach to help young people with Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans take meaningful steps towards employment, independence and brighter futures.
In this role, you'll be out in workplaces, building relationships, solving problems, celebrating achievements and helping learners discover what they're capable of. One day, you might be supporting a learner to master a new workplace task; then, the next, coaching them on independent travel or helping an employer create a more inclusive environment.
If you're passionate about inclusion, believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to work, and love seeing people succeed, we'd love to hear from you.
What Your Day Will Look Like
    * Supporting learners in the workplace to build confidence, independence and employability skills.
    * Breaking down tasks, providing coaching and gradually reducing support as learners become more capable.
    * Tracking progress, capturing feedback and maintaining clear records of skills development.
    * Helping learners understand workplace expectations, including behaviour, timekeeping, dress code and health & safety.
    * Supporting independent travel and wider readiness for work.
    * Working closely with employers to create inclusive, supportive environments.
    * Be the first point of contact to resolve challenges with learners, families and employers.
    * Supporting progression into sustained, meaningful paid employment.
    What You Will Bring:
    * Experience that Counts: You have a proven track record of supporting students with emotional, behavioural or learning difficulties.
    * A Professional Toolkit: You hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy and have a solid grasp of IT skills for accurate recording and tracking.
    * A "Can-Do" Attitude: You are comfortable working with sensitive information, maintaining confidentiality, and upholding the highest standards of safeguarding and data protection.
    * Resilience & Agility: You are a team player who can build strong relationships with stakeholders, even when managing conflicting deadlines.
    * Operational Readiness: You are willing to undertake any training required for the post and have a commitment to equality and diversity that matches our own as a "Disability Confident" employer.
If your experience or strengths look a little different, still apply. We don’t expect a perfect match. If you can bring energy, commitment and belief in what this role stands for, we want to hear from you. We’ll also support you to grow and develop in the role, helping you build the skills you need to succeed.
