How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Solar PV Electrician
    Fareham
    £50K to £65K basic salary
    Required: 2391 or testing and inspection equivilent, and core electrical qualifications

    This is a great opportunity for a Solar PV Electrician, with 1 years experience installing solar panels (Or more).

    You’ll be joining a modern, growing renewables business with very impressive facilities in Fareham, who really look after their staff and create a fun environment where people thrive. Working in the high end residential sector, they are not what people in the industry would call a "House bashing" company.

    Benefits include:

    Working mainly in SO and PO postcodes. Local work takes up around 70% of what the company take on. Occasional travel for jobs outside of this patch will therefore be expected, however no staying away across the business is, and work is kept as local as possible.  
    20 days annual leave, plus a company Christmas shutdown which is provided in addition to your annual leave allowance. For example, last year the business closed from 21st December to 3rd January, with these days not deducted from employees 20 day allowance. This means the overall annual leave entitlement can work out at up to around 31 days per year, depending on the Christmas shutdown dates.

    What the new Solar Electrician will be doing:

    Complete solar PV electrical installations as part of an experienced installation team, typically completing around one installation per day, alongside a solar PV roofer in a pair.
    Carry out the electrical side of solar PV installations, including DC and AC connections, testing and commissioning.
    Install and connect solar panels, inverters, batteries and associated equipment to a high standard.
    Communicate professionally with customers while on site, keeping them informed and ensuring a positive experience.
    Complete all required testing, paperwork and handover documentation accurately.
