How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Solar PV Installs Manager
Exclusive vacancy with Hannah at Dynamite Recruitment
    Fareham
Circa £55K to £85K depending on experience (Although flexibilities will be considered for the right person!)

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Solar PV Electrician who's ready to take their next step into management, or an established and electrically bias Solar Supervisor / Manager looking for a new challenge.

You’ll be joining a modern, growing renewables business with very impressive facilities in Fareham, who really look after their staff and create a fun environment where people thrive. Working in the high end residential sector, they are not what people in the industry would call a "House bashing" company.

You’ll play a key role in overseeing the solar installation function and helping drive the team and projects forward. Typically, each installing pair (Made up of a Solar PV Roofer, and a Solar PV Electrician), will have 1 job to do per day. More on the day to day is below.

    Benefits include:

Working mainly in SO and PO postcodes. Local work takes up around 70% of what the company take on. Occasional travel for jobs outside of this patch will therefore be expected, however no staying away across the business is, and work is kept as local as possible.
20 days annual leave, plus a company Christmas shutdown which is provided in addition to your annual leave allowance. For example, last year the business closed from 21st December to 3rd January, with these days not deducted from employees 20 day allowance. This means the overall annual leave entitlement can work out at up to around 31 days per year, depending on the Christmas shutdown dates.
Annual discretionary bonus for the right person will be available.
Great team feel & Big growth trajectory, meaning the right person will be a key senior staff member- long term, and will very likely experience positive progression throughout the business as a result.
The expected office VS field split is 50% / 50%, meaning you'll get the best of both worlds, whilst not necessarily being on the tools. They are looking for someone with a "take the bull by the horns approach"... In reality this means that if a job/ the team are experiencing issues on site, the ideal candidate will jump in the car and go down there to sort things and ensure high client and employee satisfaction levels.  What you’ll be doing:

Take day to day responsibility for the smooth running of multiple Solar PV installation teams, each typically completing around one installation per day.
Start the day at 7:30am, by reviewing the schedule, resolving any outstanding issues and making sure installers have everything they need before heading to site. Your contracted day ends at 4:30pm, however overtime will likely be required in order to round of properly on certain days.
Work closely with the existing surveyor and the in house delivery driver to ensure materials, equipment and site requirements are coordinated correctly.
Act as the main point of contact for the installation teams throughout the day, providing support and making decisions when issues arise on site.
Troubleshoot problems such as incorrect equipment, installation challenges or customer requests, taking ownership of resolving issues quickly and effectively.
Take a hands-on approach to problem solving- where an issue needs dealing with in person, you’ll be expected to get involved and see it through rather than simply pass it on.
Provide effective people management and support to the installation teams, ensuring standards, productivity and customer service remain consistently high.
Monitor the progress of installations and deal with any operational issues before they become bigger problems.
Work closely with the Directors, taking ownership of the installation side of the business and allowing them to focus more heavily on growth, sales and other areas of the business.
Initially, you’ll spend time learning the company's processes, systems and culture before taking full ownership of the role. We do expect a high volume of applications to this Solar PV Installs Manager vacancy, so apply ASAP for call to discuss further.
