How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    With a strong reputation for time-critical, reliable transport, the business works across manufacturing, engineering and industrial sectors, providing tailored solutions including same-day, dedicated and ADR-compliant transport.

    As the business enters its next phase of growth, we're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to take ownership of new business development and help build a significant portfolio of direct contract customers.

    The Role

    We're looking for an established B2B sales professional from road freight, transport or logistics who understands how to identify opportunities, engage decision-makers and convert prospects into profitable, long-term customers.

    You'll have the autonomy to manage your own territory and pipeline, backed by an experienced operations team capable of delivering the service you sell.

    The role is fully remote, with travel for customer meetings and occasional internal meetings.

    Responsibilities

    Identify and develop new business opportunities across manufacturing, engineering, industrial and commercial sectors.
    Win new direct contract business and build a portfolio of profitable long-term customers.
    Develop relationships with key decision-makers, including Logistics Managers, Transport Managers, Procurement Teams and Directors.
    Own the full sales cycle, from prospecting and initial engagement through to negotiation, contract award and account handover.
    Identify opportunities for same-day, dedicated and ADR transport solutions.
    Build and maintain a strong, structured sales pipeline and consistently deliver against agreed targets.
    Develop existing accounts and identify opportunities for increased share of customer spend.
    Work closely with the operations team to ensure a seamless transition from sale to delivery and a high level of customer service.
    Represent the company professionally and build a strong reputation within the market.About YouYou'll ideally have:

    A proven track record in B2B sales within road freight, transport or logistics.
    Demonstrable success winning new customers and generating profitable revenue.
    Experience selling transport solutions into manufacturing, engineering, industrial or similar sectors.
    Strong commercial, negotiation and closing skills.
    An established network of relevant industry contacts would be highly advantageous.
    The confidence and ability to engage senior decision-makers.
    A proactive, self-motivated approach with the discipline to manage your own territory and pipeline remotely.
    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
    A genuine hunter mentality and the drive to win new business.
    Experience buying subcontracted capacity well is a strong positive from a candidateExperience selling ADR or hazardous goods transport solutions would be advantageous, but is not essential.

    £45,000-£60,000 basic salary, depending on experience, industry expertise and network.
    Uncapped commission with an attractive earning structure for high performers.
