How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Purpose:

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, the Group Financial Accountant is an important role within the group finance team. The role supports monthly reporting to the group team in India, the quarterly audits, the production of statutory accounts, corporation tax and a range of ad hoc queries. It combines sound technical accounting with hands-on ownership of key reconciliations and month-end processes, and would suit an AAT-qualified accountant, or someone qualified by experience, looking to develop within a listed, international group.

    Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Group reporting: support monthly reporting to the group team in India, ensuring accurate and timely submission in line with group timetables and requirements.

Hyperion chart of accounts: maintain the Hyperion chart of accounts, ensuring the integrity and consistency of the group reporting structure.

Month-end journals: prepare and post month-end journals, including IFRS 16 (leases), tax, intercompany and factoring charges.

Factoring: own the weekly factoring reconciliations and reporting.

Intercompany: perform monthly intercompany reconciliations, investigating and resolving differences.

Statutory accounts & audit: support the production of statutory accounts and the quarterly and year-end audits, providing timely, well-evidenced information to auditors.

Corporation tax: support corporation tax compliance and related reporting.

Vendor set-up: manage vendor set-up, ensuring appropriate controls and data integrity.

Company secretarial: support company secretarial activities.

Ad hoc: respond to ad hoc queries and support wider group finance projects and continuous improvement.

    Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

    Qualification:

    * AAT-qualified (or qualified by experience); studying towards a professional qualification (ACCA / CIMA) is welcomed.

    * Technical accounting: sound understanding of core financial accounting, with exposure to IFRS (e.g. IFRS 16) an advantage.

    * Reconciliations: strong reconciliations experience across intercompany, factoring and balance-sheet accounts.

    * Group reporting: experience of, or a clear aptitude for, reporting within a group; consolidation exposure is beneficial.

    Systems:

Experience of Hyperion / group consolidation tools is beneficial; strong Excel skills are essential; exposure to Oracle Fusion is an advantage given the group's systems and current transition.

Tax awareness: a working awareness of corporation tax and VAT principles.

    Attributes:

Accurate, well-organised and controls-focused, able to meet group deadlines and communicate effectively across the group, including with the India team and auditors.

    Competencies & Behaviours

    * Accuracy & controls: high standards of accuracy, with a strong controls and governance mindset.

    * Continuous improvement: proactive in improving processes and ways of working.

    * Communication: clear communicator, able to work across group stakeholders, the India team and auditors.

    * Ownership: takes end-to-end responsibility for their areas and delivers reliably to deadlines.
