How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Finance / Office Manager

    Part-Time | 32.5 hours per week | Bedford / Milton Keynes

Are you brilliantly organised, confident with numbers and someone who takes real pride in making a workplace run properly

Red Event Production is a growing event production and audio-visual company based in our brand-new facility between Bedford and Milton Keynes. We’re a small, dynamic team delivering live events across the UK, and we’re looking for an experienced Finance / Office Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day running of our office, facilities and finance administration.

This is a hands-on role with real responsibility. You’ll be the person who keeps the business organised behind the scenes, makes sure the building is a great place to work and ensures our accounts and administrative processes run smoothly.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys variety, spots what needs doing before being asked, and genuinely enjoys creating an organised, welcoming and well-run working environment.

    The Role

You’ll have responsibility for two core areas of the business.

    Accounts and Finance Administration:

Managing the day-to-day account’s function using Xero.
Processing supplier invoices and customer payments.
Managing weekly payment runs and banking.
    Maintaining accurate financial records.
    Managing receipts and expense administration.
Supporting payroll, PAYE and timesheet processes.
Monitoring outstanding invoices and assisting with credit control.
Supporting month-end processes alongside our external accountant.
Maintaining job costing and financial information within our business systems.
Managing and reviewing regular company expenditure and supplier contracts.

    Office and Facilities Management

Our new building is an important part of the next stage of Red’s growth, and you’ll take ownership of making sure it remains organised, welcoming and brilliantly looked after.

    Responsibilities will include:

Managing the day-to-day running of the office and facilities.
Ensuring the workplace is always clean, tidy, organised, stocked and presentable.
Managing office, kitchen and welfare supplies.
Coordinating cleaning, maintenance, servicing and contractors.
Managing utilities, facilities suppliers and general business contracts.
Welcoming visitors, clients, suppliers and freelancers.
Managing meeting rooms and shared office spaces.
Maintaining company databases, records and filing systems.
Supporting employee onboarding and maintaining personnel records.
    Coordinating company administration and correspondence.
    Supporting health and safety administration.
Helping organise team lunches, birthdays, BBQs, socials and company events.
Generally being the person who makes sure the small details get taken care of.

    About You

Above all, you’ll be someone who takes ownership.

You don’t need to come from the events industry, but you will need to be comfortable working in a busy, entrepreneurial business where things move quickly, and no two days are exactly the same.

    We’re looking for someone with:

Strong bookkeeping, accounts or office management experience.
    Good working knowledge of Xero.
    Excellent organisational skills.
    Exceptional attention to detail.
    Confidence managing multiple priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
A proactive approach and willingness to get stuck in.
A warm, friendly and professional manner.
The confidence to take responsibility for an area of the business and make it your own.

    Why Red

We work hard, but we also want Red to be a genuinely enjoyable place to work.

We’re a close-knit team with a great culture, plenty of personality and a business that is continuing to grow.

We’ve recently moved into a brand-new purpose-built facility, giving us a fantastic working environment with modern offices, meeting spaces, kitchen and social areas alongside our production warehouse.

You’ll be joining a business where your contribution will be visible, valued and important.

    Benefits include:

Competitive salary, up to £36,000 pro rata.
    32.5-hour working week.
    Enhanced Christmas shutdown.
Enhanced annual leave allowance (30 days including Bank Holidays).
Private health insurance after qualifying service.
    Employee discount portal.
    Free coffee and soft drinks.
Regular team lunches, socials and company events.
A modern, friendly and genuinely enjoyable working environment.

If you’re someone who loves organisation, enjoys working with people and wants a role where you can genuinely take ownership of how a business runs, we’d love to hear from you
